Podere Il Cocco is a certified organic agriturismo in Montalcino that has made simplicity its philosophy of life and hospitality. You won't find unnecessary luxuries, but you will find everything you truly need: comfortable beds, clean and carefully tended spaces, the flavours of traditional Tuscan farmhouse cooking, and the precious silence of the Sienese countryside.

What you won't find — television, video games, artificial noise — is precisely what you need to properly disconnect from the frantic pace we so often choose in our city lives. Here at Il Cocco, we want every guest to come into harmony with themselves and with nature. To us, that is the real luxury.

Nature's rhythm at a farmstead over 600 years old


Podere Il Cocco is more than a place to sleep. It is a place with a deep history, rooted in the Tuscan Middle Ages: over 600 years of agricultural life on this hillside between the Valle d'Ombrone and the Val d'Orcia.

Staying here, even for just a few days, means learning to feel a different rhythm. Not the rhythm of notifications and tight schedules, but that of the seasons: the vine growing, the bees working, the sun moving slowly across the sky above Montalcino.

We have been certified organic since 2000. Every vine, every olive tree, every kitchen garden is cultivated with respect for the land — not as a trend, but because we believe that living in harmony with nature is the only real choice, for us and for the world we leave to those who come after us.

When you wake up here in the morning, you hear the wind in the leaves. You hear the birds. Sometimes you hear silence — and you realise how much you had missed it.

There is something extraordinary about the position of Podere Il Cocco that very few other agriturismos in Tuscany can claim: we sit between two worlds.

On one side opens the Val d'Orcia — a UNESCO World Heritage landscape — with its cypresses, rolling hills, and medieval villages stretching toward the Apennines. On the other, turning your gaze, you can see the sea — and on the clearest days, all the way to the Island of Giglio.

This means breathing both airs: the marine breeze rising from the Tyrrhenian Sea and the cool air descending from the mountains. A unique microclimate, well known to Montalcino's winemakers, that — alongside the soil and the Sangiovese grape — helps make Brunello di Montalcino one of the world's great wines.

Our choice to remove TV and digital entertainment from the rooms is not a limitation. It is the design.
